Business English lessons online, one-to-one with a real teacher
Emails, meetings, presentations and reports in the English your job actually uses. Live lessons built around your work, with written feedback between sessions.
Most people who need Business English do not need a general course. They need to write an email that gets a reply, hold their own in a meeting with native speakers, present a slide deck without reading it, or summarise a long report for a manager who will not read the original. That is what these lessons are for. We take the situations, vocabulary and documents you deal with at work and practise exactly those, so what you learn is useful the same week.
Lessons are taught live online by Kyle Atkins, a DELTA-qualified English teacher with eighteen years of experience who has taught professional English across business, legal, medical and technical fields, and who builds the tools and materials he uses with students himself.
What we work on
- Writing for work: emails that are clear and polite in the right register, reports and summaries, and the structure that makes a long document easy to read.
- Meetings and calls: opening and closing, agreeing and disagreeing, interrupting politely, checking understanding and following up in writing.
- Presentations: structuring a talk, signposting, handling questions and describing numbers and trends.
- Your field: the specific vocabulary, situations and documents of your sector, from first-day introductions to the negotiations and reviews that matter most.
- Accuracy and fluency in balance: real conversation practice from the first lesson, with precise correction so mistakes do not become habits.
How the lessons work
- One-to-one, or in a small group of colleagues, online from anywhere.
- Individualised lesson plans every session, shaped around your goals and schedule.
- All four skills covered as you need them, with materials chosen for you rather than taken off a shelf.
- Homework is reviewed and you get feedback in writing between lessons.
- Between sessions, Otto, the site assistant, is there for quick questions and practice, and a set of tools generates tailored exercises and checks your writing.
- Sessions start and end on time; 24-hour notice keeps a rescheduled booking intact. Messages get a reply within one working day.
Business English with generative AI
If part of your job is already done with ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude, the Generative AI for Work programme combines English for work with hands-on use of those tools: prompt-writing fundamentals, AI for emails, reports, presentations and meetings, and a clear comparison of the three assistants. It runs as 40 hours in total, 22.5 of them live, with tasks and assignments in between.

Questions people ask
What level do I need for Business English lessons?
Any level from A2 upwards. The content is matched to you: at lower levels we build the core language of your daily tasks; at B2 and above we work on register, precision and persuasion. Take the free placement test if you are unsure.
Can my company book lessons for a team?
Yes. Lessons run one-to-one or as small groups of colleagues, and group lessons cost less per person. One person can pay the total or each student can pay their own share.
How long before I notice a difference?
That depends on your starting point and how much you practise between lessons, so no promise is made. What you can expect from the first session is practice on the real situations you face at work, and written feedback on your homework.
Do I need special software?
No. Lessons are online with a standard video call, and the practice tools and worksheets run in any modern browser.
Is English for lawyers or other specialised English available?
Yes. English for specific purposes is taught at the specialised rate, and there is a free Legal English course in twelve chapters to study alongside the lessons.
